I've bought all these books as they were released, but I love having the whole series in one.This series takes place in the same world as the the author's Dragon Blood series, and some of the original characters make appearances. You need not have read the prior books to enjoy these, but you may get some extra enjoyment out if it if you did.Both the main characters are misfits of a sort.Telryn, "Trip" loves to fly, but neither his tendency for air-acrobatics, nor his looks (which make people suspect that some of the enemy Cofah contributed to his family tree) help him to fit in with this squadron. Not to mention that he has magical ability in a land that distrusts, or outright hates magic users.Raised to follow in her scholar parents' footsteps, Rysha's greatest ambition is to qualify as one of the Kingdom's Elite Soldiers, and she refuses to be deterred by the fact she would be only the second woman to earn that honor - or that she is half blind without her glasses.Follow these two unlikely heroes as they grow and become friends in this enjoyable series.
